Straszheim Scholarship
The Robert E. Straszheim Scholarship Fund, established by the family of the late Robert E. Straszheim, proposes to assist worthy protestant students, in training for full-time Christian work.
This application must be completed and submitted to the First United Methodist Church office. The application will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of First United Methodist Church Foundation. Information contained herein will be treated confidentially.

Scholarship qualifications and specifics are as follows:
- Applicant must intend to pursue a course of study at an accredited college, university, or seminary which will lead to a profession of full-time Christian work.
- Scholarship amount will depend in part upon the financial need of the applicant.
- The applicant must possess favorable attitudes, habits, qualities of citizenship, and have the clear potential to succeed in his or her course of study.
- The scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis only. Extension of the scholarship can occur upon request in writing to the chairperson of the FUMC Foundation Scholarship Committee.
- Transcripts from the place of study must be available to the committee and must show competency and achievement in the field of study.
